WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of 18-year-old Kymere Allen on gun charges following a traffic stop.
Authorities stated that on March 3 at approximately 8:38 p.m., police officers on patrol conducted a traffic stop after observing a moving violation. As officers made contact with the occupants, one of the passengers – 18-year-old Kymere Allen – provided a false name and subsequently fled from the vehicle. He was taken into custody without incident after a brief foot pursuit, and officers recovered a loaded 9mm handgun with an extended magazine.
Allen has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (Two Counts)
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Hindering Prosecution
- Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $21,500 cash-only bail.
