14-Year-Old Arrested After Attempted Carjacking

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of a 14-year-old male following an attempted carjacking incident.

Authorities stated that on January 26 at approximately 3:22 a.m., police were dispatched to the 500 block of West 38th Street where they located the victim of an attempted carjacking incident. Police located the suspect, a 14-year-old male, who fled scene but was located and taken into custody a short time later. Police recovered a pellet gun at the scene.

The 14-year-old male has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Robbery (First Degree)
  • Assault (Second Degree)
  • Resisting Arrest

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released on $10,500 unsecured bail.
