MIDDLETOWN, PA — The Pennsylvania Lottery announced that two vendors were recently selected to supply the Lottery with its instant tickets — commonly known as Scratch-Off games. Scientific Games Corporation was selected as the primary supplier for Scratch-Off games and related distribution services, and Pollard Banknote Limited was selected as a secondary supplier. Scientific Games Corporation was also selected as the vendor to provide lottery gaming system services.
“As the Pennsylvania Lottery approaches its 50th anniversary, we couldn’t be more excited to start working with these business partners to reinvent the Lottery and position it for future growth,” said Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko. “During this procurement process, we sought a modern lottery solution that provides the best overall value for the Lottery and for the Commonwealth. By realizing the benefits of new and emerging technologies, with the highest level of integrity and security, the Lottery can ensure funding for programs that benefit older Pennsylvanians for many years to come.”
Patrick McHugh, Lottery Group Chief Executive for Scientific Games, said, “The Pennsylvania Lottery is a shining example of success. The Pennsylvania Lottery’s leadership team’s vision for modernization, use of technology, and game innovation has propelled the Pennsylvania Lottery to record-breaking profits to benefit seniors, ranking among the highest performing lotteries in the world. Now more than ever, senior care is of the utmost importance, and Scientific Games is honored to continue driving maximum proceeds through this outstanding partnership with the Pennsylvania Lottery’s new instant games and gaming systems technology contracts.”
“Pollard Banknote is looking forward to partnering with the Pennsylvania Lottery to make our solutions and products available to the Lottery. The Pennsylvania Lottery is an incredible organization that has proven to be a trailblazer in the industry,” said Doug Pollard, Co-Chief Executive Officer, Pollard Banknote. “Ultimately, the Lottery’s success translates into more funding for programs for older Pennsylvanians. Our partnership gives the Lottery access to our exclusive portfolio of unique and innovative products that can be leveraged to infuse further excitement and broaden the appeal of Scratch-Off games for new and existing players alike. We are confident that this will result in continued success by driving sales and maximizing profits that ultimately provide support to a very worthy beneficiary.”
The vendors were selected after a competitive procurement process conducted by the Pennsylvania Department of General Services. That process started with a request for proposals and later involved the evaluation of the proposals that were received.
The contracts are available on the Pennsylvania Treasury’s website, patreasury.gov, under the contracts e-library.
