PITTSBURGH, PA — A resident of Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 60 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release, on convictions related to alleged narcotics and firearms violations. The announcement came from United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.

United States District Judge Christy Criswell Wiegand imposed the sentence on Kristy Lepionka, 40, following a nine-month Title III wiretap investigation into suspected drug trafficking in and around Jefferson, Clearfield, and Allegheny counties.

According to evidence presented to the court, Lepionka allegedly received parcels shipped from California to the Western District of Pennsylvania. These packages reportedly contained between 5 and 15 kilograms of methamphetamine.

On August 31, 2021, investigators executed a federal search warrant at Lepionka’s residence. During the search, they reportedly seized a small quantity of methamphetamine and a firearm. Due to a previous felony conviction, Lepionka is prohibited from possessing firearms.

Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan D. Lusty prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.

Numerous agencies contributed to the investigation leading to Lepionka’s prosecution, including the Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations, United States Postal Service – Office of Inspector General, United States Postal Inspection Service, Internal Revenue Services, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, Allegheny County Police, and Pennsylvania State Police. Local assistance was provided by the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office, Clearfield County District Attorney’s Office, and the Clarion Borough Police Department.
