Did you know you can compost paper, prunings, cardboard and coffee grounds?  Learn how to turn kitchen, garden and yard scraps into a natural, homemade compost for your lawns and gardens by taking part this March in an online Backyard Composting workshop presented by the Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC).  Individuals living in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and surrounding areas can learn online March 3, 11, 18 or 22 and then pick up a bin at PRC headquarters.

Individuals living in the greater Pittsburgh area also can take part in a March 30 Watershed Awareness/Rain Barrel webinar and pick up a barrel at PRC headquarters.

On March 16, individuals living throughout Pennsylvania can take part in a free online Recycling & Waste Reduction webinar to learn about curbside collection, hard-to-recycle options and pharmaceutical disposal.

“Since launching online learning in 2020, PRC has received a tremendous amount of feedback concerning how the webinar format is an extremely convenient way to learn from the comfort of home,” according to PRC Education Specialist Nancy Martin.  “And the online format enables individuals throughout the Commonwealth to take part since webinars require no travel to a specific classroom location.”
