Pennsylvania Resident Sentenced to Over Two Years in Prison for Cocaine Trafficking

PITTSBURGH, PA — Shantell Griggs, a 45-year-old former resident of Sharon, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 27 months in prison for cocaine trafficking. The announcement was made by United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

United States District Judge Cathy Bissoon handed down the sentence, which also includes six years of supervised release following Griggs’ prison term.

Earlier this year, Griggs pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute cocaine between July 2019 and November 2021 in Sharon, Mercer County. Griggs also pleaded guilty to possessing with intent to distribute cocaine on September 1, 2021, in Sharon. He admitted to being responsible for the distribution of 300 grams of cocaine.

Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller prosecuted this case on behalf of the government. The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation leading to the convictions and sentence in this case.
