SCRANTON, PA — Justin Passetti, a 31-year-old resident of Kingsley in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 36 months in prison. The sentencing was handed down by U.S. District Court Judge Robert D. Mariani on November 14, 2023, following Passetti’s guilty plea to the charge of conspiracy to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine.

According to United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam, Passetti had previously admitted to conspiring with others to distribute high-quality crystal methamphetamine throughout the Susquehanna County area in March 2020. The charges against Passetti originated from a traffic stop conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police on March 11, 2020, during which Passetti was a passenger in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of five pounds of crystal methamphetamine.

The case against Passetti was the result of an investigation carried out by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Pennsylvania State Police. Assistant United States Attorney Robert J. O’Hara prosecuted the case.
