Pennsylvania Man Sentenced to 14 Years for Fentanyl Drug Trafficking Conspiracy

SCRANTON, PA — A man from Wind Gap, Pennsylvania, was sentenced on November 28, 2023, to 14 years in prison for his involvement in a fentanyl drug trafficking conspiracy. Tyrell Donta Ravenell, also known as “Beast,” aged 36, received his sentence from U.S. District Court Judge Malachy E. Mannion.

United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam revealed that Ravenell had pleaded guilty to a drug trafficking conspiracy on August 9, 2023. Ravenell admitted to conspiring with others to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute between 400 grams and less than 1.2 kilograms of fentanyl. The illegal activities spanned Northampton and Monroe Counties, starting in 2018 and continuing until his indictment in June 2023.

Ravenell’s sentence was further heightened due to his unlawful possession of firearms in connection with his drug trafficking activities.

Alongside his imprisonment, Judge Mannion ordered Ravenell to serve a term of five years of supervised release following his release from custody.

The case was jointly investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Scranton and the Pennsylvania State Police. Assistant United States Attorney Michelle Olshefski prosecuted the case.
