PITTSBURGH, PA — In a federal court ruling on Thursday, April 18, 2024, Raymond Briskey, a 38-year-old resident of Sharon, Pennsylvania, received a sentence of 65 months in federal prison for his involvement in cocaine trafficking and related firearm offenses. Following his incarceration, Briskey will be subject to three years of supervised release, as ordered by United States Senior District Judge Joy Flowers Conti.

The conviction stems from Briskey’s guilty plea on October 21, 2020, acknowledging his possession with the intent to distribute cocaine and cocaine base, alongside possessing a firearm to further his drug trafficking activities. The court was informed that at the time of these offenses, Briskey was wanted on bench warrants in two Ohio counties for failing to appear on drug trafficking and theft charges. Additionally, he awaited sentencing in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, for contraband and drug convictions.

Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller led the prosecution, representing the interests of the United States in this case.

United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan praised the collaborative efforts of the Mercer County Drug Task Force, the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Their investigation was pivotal in bringing Briskey to justice, marking a significant step in combating drug trafficking and associated criminal activities.
