JOHNSTOWN, PA — In federal court on April 2, 2024, Milton Paschal, a 44-year-old Arnold resident, admitted his involvement in a significant drug trafficking operation, pleading guilty to serious charges under federal narcotics laws. United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan revealed these developments on Wednesday.

Paschal’s guilty plea encompasses Counts One and Eight of the Superseding Indictment, acknowledged before United States Senior District Judge Kim R. Gibson. The court learned that from August 2018 to March 2023, Paschal was deeply involved in a conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute over five kilograms of cocaine. His actions did not stop there; in December 2023, Paschal engaged in the distribution and possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, activities confirmed through federal wiretap evidence showing Paschal obtaining and distributing the narcotic.

Scheduled for August 1, 2024, Paschal’s sentencing carries a stark potential outcome: a minimum of 10 years to a maximum life sentence in prison, alongside the possibility of a fine reaching up to $10 million. The severity of these penalties underscores the gravity of Paschal’s offenses, reflecting the legal system’s stringent stance against narcotics distribution. The final sentence will consider the nature of the crimes and Paschal’s previous criminal record, if applicable.

Assistant United States Attorney Arnold P. Bernard Jr. leads the prosecution, representing a concerted effort by federal authorities to clamp down on drug trafficking. This case results from extensive investigations by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Laurel Highlands Resident Agency and Homeland Security Investigations, with support from various federal agencies including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation, the United States Postal Inspection Service, and local law enforcement.
