PENNSYLVANIA — Department of Corrections Acting Secretary George Little recently signed a Notice of Execution setting March 7, 2023, for the execution of John Charles Eichinger, who was sentenced to death in Montgomery County.

Between 1999 to 2005, driven by revenge, John Charles Eichinger was responsible for the deaths of three women and one child in Pennsylvania. After two of his victims had rejected his affections, he resorted to murder and evidently felt that these women deserved death over rejection.

The law provides that when the governor does not sign a warrant of execution within the specified time period, the secretary of corrections has 30 days within which to issue a notice of execution.
