KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — Looking for a job? The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will be hosting job fairs on Tuesday, July 12, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at four Maintenance facilities in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery County. Pennsylvania Department of Transportation operates to provide a safe, efficient and reliable transportation system that enhances the quality of life and promotes economic prosperity for all Pennsylvania residents. Each year, PennDOT works to improve more than 40,000 miles of state highways and nearly 25,000 bridges. The department also provides funding to public transit systems across the state and assists local municipalities with road and bridge improvements.

In order to continue its mission, PennDOT recently announced it is seeking qualified individuals to fill the following positions:

  • Transportation Equipment Operator-A;
  • Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee;
  • Diesel Construction Equipment Mechanic; Diesel Construction Equipment Mechanic Trainee; and Maintenance Repairman 2.

Interested individuals are encouraged to attend one of the job fair locations to learn more about these opportunities. Positions are posted online at www.employment.pa.gov and applicants are encouraged to submit their application through the website whether they can attend or not attend the job fairs. Applicants may also view other positions on the website available in the Philadelphia region and statewide.

On-the-spot interviews and driving tests will be conducted for commercial driver’s license (CDL) operators at PennDOT’s job fair. CDL operators should bring their current driver’s license and medical examiner certificate to the job fair. The requirements for a CDL are posted on the job description on the employment website. Please note that PennDOT will train an employee for a CDL if hired for the Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee position. This is a great opportunity for those who are interested in obtaining a CDL or for those who already have one and are looking for a new job.
