Houlahan Statement on the Passing of Indiana Rep. Jackie Walorski

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Representative Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06) issued the following statement after learning of the passing of Rep. Jackie Walorski (IN-02) and two of her staffers:

“I was shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic accident which took the lives of my colleague, Jackie Walorski, and two of her staff members, Zachery Potts and Emma Thomson,” said Houlahan. “My heart goes out to their families and the community members that they served.”

On Wednesday, August 3, 2022, Representative Jackie Walorski, a Republican member of Congress from Indiana, was killed in a car crash along with two members of her staff and a fourth individual. Representative Walorski was elected to Congress in 2012 and served as Ranking Member of the House Ethics Committee. Representative Walorski will be remembered as a dedicated public servant and a passionate defender of the rule of law. Her untimely death is a tragedy and our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficult time.
