Houlahan Calls for Senate to Return and Pass Commonsense Gun Reform Legislation Immediately

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Yesterday, Representative Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), along with 213 Members, sent a letter urging Senator McConnell to immediately call back the Senate and hold a vote on bipartisan gun violence prevention legislation.

The House has already passed both H.R. 8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act, and H.R. 1112, the Enhanced Background Checks Act in February. Senator McConnell has blocked both bills from a vote for more than 160 days.

“I made a promise to my community, and especially to people like Michelle Roberson, whose daughter was killed during a senseless road rage incident, to fight for commonsense gun legislation,” said Houlahan. “For too long, Congress has neglected its responsibility to protect Americans from the gun violence epidemic. It’s high time the Senate acts. Our country cannot wait any longer.”

Enforce the gun laws that were already passed! Why don’t you pass a law that judges on the democratic side of the judicial system have to enforce the sentences that are committed by criminals, or lose their seat! When the NRA helped pass a law that required anyone convicted of a crime while in possession of a gun, receive an automatic 5 year prison sentence, it didn’t take long till liberal judges found reasons not to enforce that law. Your democrat parties idea of gun control is nothing more than making criminals of those that worked hard all their lives… Read more »

Dear Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan:
Thank you for sending your letter about gun reform .

This is an issue that should already been addressed by both Political Parties. Maybe Doctors and the CDC. could begin a study of why the gun crisis is increasing. And shooters are younger, anger is part of this tragedy!

People are helpless until we as a
Nation stand together. Assault weapons do not belong on any American street. Buyers at gun shows should have to have background checks before purchasing any gun.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Lola Tooley
