WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning about a potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination in certain products sold at Kroger stores. The recall involves items distributed by Supreme Service Solutions LLC, operating as Supreme Produce, and sourced from Weirs Farm Inc.

Listeria monocytogenes is a harmful bacterium. It can cause severe and sometimes fatal infections in young children, elderly individuals, and those with weakened immune systems. Healthy people may endure short-term symptoms like high fever, headaches, nausea, and diarrhea. However, in pregnant women, Listeria can lead to miscarriages and stillbirths.

The recalled products were sold at Kroger stores in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, and Ohio. These items come in clear plastic grab-and-go containers and include a variety of cut produce.
