The Congressional Oversight Commission released its twenty-eighth report. The report is focused on the Treasury Department’s and Federal Reserve’s economic stabilization efforts.

The Commission was established by the CARES Act, and is composed of five bipartisan members. This is their latest report, released on Wednesday, August 31, 2022.

The Commission’s purpose is to “provide independent and expert oversight” of the Treasury Department and Federal Reserve’s actions to stabilize the economy in light of the pandemic.

Current members of the Commission include Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) and Congressman French Hill (R-Ark.). Toomey is the Chair of the Commission, and Hill is the Vice Chair.

The Commission’s reports are intended to “provide timely information” to Congress, as well as the public, about the Treasury Department and Federal Reserve’s actions.

This week’s report is available for review here. Previous reports are available for download on the Congressional Oversight Commission’s website.
