Man Arrested by Wilmington Police on Drug, Gun Charges

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges.

Authorities state that on October 7 at approximately 11:15 a.m. members of the Street Crime Unit conducted a vehicle stop in the 2200 block of North Jefferson Street.  Police made contact with the operator, 21-year-old Elijah Collins.  Following a brief investigation, police recovered a loaded .40 caliber handgun and 22 grams of marijuana.  Police took Collins into custody without incident.

Collins was charged with the following offenses in addition to a traffic violation:

  • Possession of a Firearm while also in Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
  • Possession of Marijuana

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $15,200 unsecured bail.
