The 8,160 square foot Class C facility specializing in urologic care is the first of its kind for an independent practice in Greater Philadelphia
WAYNE, PA — MidLantic Urology, the largest and most comprehensive urology practice in Pennsylvania, recently opened an approximately $3 million state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center in Wayne, the first Class C surgery center dedicated to urologic care for an independent practice in the Greater Philadelphia region.
The center will perform outpatient urology procedures to treat various conditions, including but not limited to: enlarged prostate, kidney stones, urinary incontinence, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, urinary obstruction, erectile dysfunction and overactive bladder.
“MidLantic Urology is thrilled to make high-quality, surgical urologic care more accessible to our patients,” said Brian Rosenthal, DO, FACOS, medical director for the MidLantic Urology Ambulatory Surgery Center. “With the opening of MidLantic Urology’s new surgery center, patients will receive streamlined care from the region’s top urologists. The patient care journey will be more efficient and consistent, as MidLantic Urology is devoted to delivering the highest standard of comprehensive, personalized patient care.”
The 8,160 square-foot surgery center is a Class C facility, the largest classification of ambulatory surgery centers, specifically built for urologic procedures. The facility includes three advanced operating rooms and 11 beds in its recovery bay.
Sending patients directly to the outpatient surgery center keeps patients out of hospitals – which is important now more than ever to preserve available hospital beds throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
“MidLantic Urology has the ability to change the overall patient experience for the better,” said Dr. Rosenthal. “Receiving care at our surgery center eliminates a trip to the hospital, lower costs for insurers and requires less money out of our patient’s pockets. The surgery center was designed to be representative of MidLantic Urology’s patient-centered approach to health care, operating with the health, wellness and experience of the patient first.”
MidLantic Urology is the largest urology group in Pennsylvania, with more than 70 physicians providing care in 47 locations in southeastern Pennsylvania. MidLantic Urology’s facilities include three radiation oncology centers and two research centers, in addition to the new surgery center and physician offices.
