COATESVILLE, PA — Drive thru flu shots are available by appointment only at Coatesville VA Medical Center and their Spring City and Delaware County clinics starting Monday, September 14.
The outdoor drive-thru flu vaccinations are designed to be convenient to Veterans while minimizing potential exposure to COVID-19.
Appointments are available Monday through Friday during normal appointment hours. Veterans may call the appointment line at 610-383-0239 and are asked to bring their mask.
If a veteran already has a face-to-face appointment scheduled with their primary care provider, optometry, podiatry, lab, radiology and mental health, they can receive your flu shot at that time.
The single best way to prevent seasonal flu is to get vaccinated each year, but good health habits like covering your cough and washing your hands often can help stop the spread of germs and prevent respiratory illnesses like the flu.
CDC recommends a flu shot for everyone six months and older.
Flu vaccination can keep you from getting sick with flu, reduces the risk of being hospitalized, and may also protect the people around you. Getting a flu vaccine is especially important for people with health conditions such as diabetes and heart disease. Pregnant women, older people, and young children should also get a flu shot.
