Chester County Economic Development Council Focuses On Health Care Equity & Diverse Populations During COVID-19

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — What is it like for diverse populations to seek – and provide — health care during COVID-19?

Three regional health care leaders, from the city to the suburbs, will share their first-hand perspectives at the Chester County Economic Development Council’s 3rd Annual Health Care Connect Innovators Forum to be held virtually before an audience of up to 150 health care industry professionals on Wednesday October 28, 2020 from 8 am to 10:30 am.

The program will highlight peer perspectives on COVID-19 experiences for diverse populations, social pressures and system advances in the quality of clinical care.

Presenters include:

  • Talonda Rogers MSN, RN – Ms. Rogers will present her unique perspective not only as a black female nurse, author and educator, but also her experiences as a patient.
  • Vanessa Briggs, MBS, RD, President and CEO of Brandywine Health Foundation, CCEDC Board Member – Ms. Briggs will provide an in-depth portrayal of the impacts of COVID-19 on the underserved, specifically, residents within the Greater Coatesville community.
  • Dr. Tony S. Reed, MD, MBA, Executive Vice President, Chief Medical Officer, Temple University Health System – Dr. Reed will review COVID-19 and its regional impacts along with an overview of Temple Health Systems’ recent and impressive successes.
  • Moderated by Dr. Claire Mooney DNP, MBA, RN, CCRN, NEA-BC, President and CEO of Jennersville Hospital/Tower Health, CCEDC Board Member and Health Care Connect Board Chair.
