Non-Partisan Lugar Center Names Rep. Houlahan Among Top 20% Most Bipartisan Members of Congress

Representative Chrissy Houlahan

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Representative Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) issued the following statement after a report released by the non-partisan Lugar Center ranked her as one of the most bipartisan members of Congress:

“As a veteran in Congress, I understand I swore an oath to defend the Constitution, not a political party,” said Houlahan. “My purple, pragmatic community in Chester and Berks counties is not as worried about whether there is an ‘R’ or a ‘D’ at the end of my name – they want to see me working across the aisle to deliver on the issues that are top of mind for them: inflation, health care, immigration, education, and more. I’m extremely proud to be named among the most bipartisan members of Congress by the non-partisan Lugar Center, and I look forward to continuing my commitment to bipartisanship in the weeks and months to come.”

Each year, the Lugar Center and Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy produce a non-partisan, objective ranking of how often each Member of Congress works across the aisle. More on the methodology, history, and past ratings of the Lugar Center’s Bipartisan Index can be found here.
