EAST GOSHEN TWP, PA — State Rep. Dianne Herrin, D-Chester, announced the awarding this week of $1 million in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program funding to Communications Test Design Inc. as they reconfigure, enhance and expand their workspaces and operational output.
The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program is a grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.
“This is a monumental investment in ensuring this vital employer has the ongoing and necessary support needed to remain competitive right here in Chester County,” Herrin said.
The award will be used to demolish and convert existing space to a clean and modern warehousing area, large open workspaces for technical repair of electronics, and an assembly area where CTDI will build its test platforms. CTDI will also build a technical research and development lab.
“Because I am given the privilege of representing the 156th Legislative District, I will continuously advocate for these types of state resources to help make our community thrive,” Herrin said. “Investments like this expand on our collective mission of creating family-sustaining careers and incentivizing employers to do business in the Commonwealth.”
RACP projects are authorized in the Redevelopment Assistance section of a Capital Budget Itemization Act, have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact, and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenue, or other measures of economic activity.
