DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Columbia Gas Transmission has begun maintenance work/safety improvements on their pipelines parallel to the Chester County Struble Trail.
The limit of work is roughly 1,400 linear feet, from the intersection of the Struble Trail and Dowlin Forge Road to the parking lot at the intersection of Dowlin Forge Road and Shelmire Road.
Work will consist the of installation of a new anode line for their cathodic protection system and is scheduled to last approximately 2-1/2 weeks, weather depending.
Columbia has coordinated with the Chester County Parks Department and PA Department of Environmental Protection regarding the necessary permits.
The trail will remain open for the general public but the parking lot at the intersection of Dowlin Forge Road and Shelmire Road will be closed for a few days during the construction, anticipated the week of September 14th but is subjected to change.
