Coatesville Man Arrested After Running from Police, Crack Cocaine Recovered

COATESVILLE, PA — The Coatesville Police Department announced the arrest of James Weller of Coatesville on two active felony warrants.

Authorities stated that on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at approximately 8:19 PM, an officer conducted a traffic stop on the 100 block of North Tenth Avenue. The passenger, later identified as James Weller, fled the vehicle on foot. Coatesville Police reportedly chased Weller for several blocks until eventually being caught at the intersection of North Tenth Avenue and Merchant Street. Weller is accused of resisting arrest until additional officers arrived on the scene. After being taken into custody on the two active felony warrants, Weller was found in possession of crack cocaine.

Weller has been charged with felony fight to avoid apprehension and additional related offenses.
