WEST CHESTER, PA — December marks the one-year anniversary of MyChesCo, Chester County’s community and social media website. As of today, they have published over 2,250 informational articles and shared more than 6,000 events and 180,000 local jobs listings. Additionally, MyChesCo provides support for social networking, which includes a growing online community, with Facebook-like features that include news feeds, friends requests, photo sharing, online groups, and more.
“We couldn’t be happier with how popular MyChesCo has become in such a short period of time,” states Timothy Alexander, owner of MyChesCo. “We are extremely excited about our growth and the future of the website. Moving forward, we are doubling down on our vision to provide Chester County’s people, services, and companies with simple, convenient, and easy to use communication and marketplace tools.”
Starting from scratch, MyChesCo now receives between 2,376 and 4,020 unique visitors per day. Additionally, according to Alexa Internet, a web traffic analysis company, MyChesCo ranks 67,616 in the United States and 305,763 globally. What makes this traffic ranking particularly impressive is that MyChesCo is a hyperlocal website and receives more than 99 percent of all web traffic from within the United States.
Furthermore, the vast majority of all U.S. web traffic is from Chester County or nearby communities. The top communities for MyChesCo’s internet traffic are Coatesville, West Chester, Downingtown, Chester Springs, and West Goshen. The website also boasts a very low bounce rate, with high daily page views and time on site per visitor. These measures help one understand how interested and engaged the site’s visitors actually are compared to similar websites.
“I believe the key to MyChesCo’s success is that we are authentically celebrating Chester County,” continues Alexander. “We have a strong set of core values, which are not just a bunch of words slapped on a web page. They guide our entire decisionmaking process. We don’t publish sponsored articles masquerading as journalism. Also, our marketplace tools are free for all Chester County businesses, civic groups, charities, schools, religious organizations, and others. We are not trying to sell anything, and there are never any hidden costs or strings attached.”
MyChesCo plans to continue to build out its capabilities and to introduce more marketplace and digital services in 2019. If you would like to become part of the MyChesCo community, you can register for free or follow them on Facebook, Twitter, or their new LinkedIn page.
