WAYNE, PA — Wayne Center, a skilled nursing facility in Wayne, Pennsylvania, has been distinguished as a ‘Best Nursing Home for 2024’ by the U.S. News & World Report. This prestigious recognition signifies Wayne Center’s commitment to providing excellent care and services.

Since 2009, the annual U.S. News’ Best Nursing Homes ratings have been a valuable resource for consumers seeking short-term rehabilitation or long-term care for themselves or their loved ones. The rating system evaluates over 15,000 nursing homes on various quality measures, including patient and resident outcomes, staffing levels, infection rates, reliance on antipsychotic drugs, and health inspection results.

Wayne Center achieved ‘High Performing’ status, the highest possible rating for Long-Term Care. The ‘Best Nursing Home’ designation is only given to facilities that consistently perform well in these quality measures.

“Achieving a title of ‘Best Nursing Home for 2024′ is a significant accomplishment and reflects the dedication, hard work, and commitment of the Wayne Center care team,” said Melissa Powell, Chief Operating Officer of Wayne Center. “I am so proud of the positive impact Wayne Center has had on the lives of their patients, residents, families, and the community they serve.”

The U.S. News methodology calculates the Best Nursing Homes ratings using a variety of quality measures obtained from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). It factors in resident care, safety, outcomes, nurse staffing, use of antipsychotic drugs, success in preventing ER and hospital visits, and changes in home ownership and weekend staffing for long-term care ratings.

“U.S. News’ Best Nursing Homes ratings give patients, senior residents, their families and caregivers an objective assessment of quality, to help them choose the facility that best fits their individual needs,” said Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News. “Nursing homes that have earned the recognition of U.S. News have a track record of achieving better outcomes for patients and residents, and maximizing the amount of care they receive from nurses and other staff.”
