KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Phoenix Services LLC announced that effective Monday, June 25, 2018, Mark Essig joined Phoenix as President and Chief Executive Officer. “Mark is an extraordinary leader with extensive experience in the steel industry as well as private equity sponsored companies,” said Kip Smith, Phoenix’s outgoing President and Chief Executive Officer. “We are privileged to welcome Mark as the new President and CEO of Phoenix.”
Mark’s steel experience has included senior leadership roles at AK Steel and the Washington Steel Corp. Mark has combined this steel industry experience with a strong private equity background, having successfully managed portfolio companies for private equity firms such as Bain Capital, Pfingsten Partners, Monomoy Capital, and Wayzata Partners.
Kip Smith will continue in an active role as Phoenix’s Executive Chairman of the Board supporting Mark and the Phoenix Leadership Team. “I welcome Kip’s ongoing support and participation as we grow and build a bigger, stronger Phoenix” noted Mr. Essig. He continued, “the exceptional experience of our management team and our commitment to setting new standards of service continues to set Phoenix apart from our competitors.”
