Effective January 3, 2023, attorneys Holly L. Setzler and James D. Doyle are joining Gawthrop Greenwood’s team of attorneys at their law offices in historic downtown West Chester, PA.

Holly L. Setzler is the principal owner of Landis & Setzler, PC, which was founded in 1976 in West Chester, PA and has provided legal counsel to homeowner and condominium associations, developers, business clients, county airports, municipalities and real estate-related entities across Chester County, Delaware County, Montgomery County and Berks County. A lifelong resident of Chester County as it has transformed from a rural community to a thriving residential and commercial corridor, Holly has practiced with Landis & Setzler, PC since her admission to the Bar in 1988. She was the attorney who achieved a landmark victory in the Mountain View Condominium v. Bomersbach case before the Pennsylvania Superior Court. At the time, the result ensured homeowner and condominium associations could recoup expended legal fees when enforcing the governing documents of a community. Ultimately, the legislation was amended to accommodate the provision. Setzler has also represented association insurance carriers as defense counsel when issues are association related and complex.
Attorney James D. Doyle joins Gawthrop Greenwood as a partner focusing his practice in homeowners and condominium association law, real estate transactions and litigation, zoning and land use, buyer/seller disputes and title matters. He has assisted Landis & Setzler clients in the formation, governance and management of homeowners and condominium associations, as well as in the buying, selling and development of residential and commercial land. He was recently appointed to Pennsylvania’s Legislative Action Committee for the Community Associations Institute, an international trade association with nearly 40,000 members that is at the forefront of community association law.
