MALVERN, PA — Malvern Retreat House announced the appointment of nationally recognized retreat director, author, and evangelist, Reverend Douglas M. McKay, as its new Rector. As the spiritual leader of the retreat house, Father McKay will guide the community in its mission to provide a peaceful and welcoming environment for spiritual reflection and growth.
Father McKay brings decades of ministry experience and spiritual leadership to Malvern Retreat House, where he has been a Retreat Director since 1986, and a retreatant since 1971.
“We are thrilled to welcome Father McKay to our community,” said James R. Molinari, Chair of the Malvern Retreat House Board of Directors. “His passion for spiritual growth and commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive community make him the perfect fit for Malvern Retreat House.”
Michael T. Norton, President of Malvern Retreat House said, “We are delighted and confident that Fr. McKay’s leadership will help us continue to grow and thrive as we serve our mission.”
“Similar to Abraham in the Book of Genesis, I too, will follow God’s direction and journey at Malvern Retreat House. In 1997, Fr. McKay founded Our House Ministries, a recovery-based ministry group located in South Philadelphia. This Ministry is dedicated to helping those who are dependent on alcohol or drugs and fosters a strong sense of community while guiding individuals on their spiritual journeys.
In addition to directing men’s, women’s, and married couples’ retreats, Fr. McKay brings over 25 years of experience in leading retreats for those in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction,” Norton added. “He will continue his affiliation with Our House Ministries.
