PAOLI, PA — Jay Ann Intimates celebrated its one-year anniversary at their new Paoli, PA location in August 2021, just ahead of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
With the departure of Gie Gie Intimates and its owner’s retirement last year, Jay Ann opened its doors to the Chester County clientele August 5, 2020. Specializing in products for women undergoing any manner of breast surgeries, Jay Ann also meets the needs of anyone needing bras, undergarments, and leisure wear. Located at 36 Chestnut Road in the Chestnut Village Shoppes, Jay Ann encourages anyone interested in items to call ahead 610-296-7626 and make an appointment, so that a fitter can work one-on-one with the client to provide a personalized experience.
Jay Ann Intimates opened in 1955, with a variety of items ranging from bras, girdles, underwear and fine lingerie. In 1970, post-mastectomy products became available, and women could now be fit for a silicone breast prosthesis and bras with pockets to keep breast forms secure and in place. Since the beginning, Jay Ann has always been a family- and woman-owned business. Today, Jay Ann is owned and operated by a third generation and cousin to the founder and continues to offer all kinds of products for every woman, regardless of age or size.
Jay Ann Intimates remains the tri-state area’s premier breast care boutique, carrying the most extensive line of products to fulfill breast surgical needs. Breast care items include post-surgical garments (to provide comfort while healing), bras, prostheses, shapers, as well as lymphedema products to allow its clients to resume their day-to-day activities – even swimsuits. Retail items include every day and specialty bras, shapewear and leisure wear.
Jay Ann Intimates also offers its clientele the option for a custom prosthesis, where a scan is made of the client’s chest wall and a form is created to fit snugly against the area, allowing the client to wear any type of bra. Jay Ann works with most insurance companies, including Medicare, to help clients maximize their benefits and coverages. (Individual plans vary, so Jay Ann states it encourages clients to self-advocate and contact their insurance companies ahead of their visit to know what is available under their specific plan.)
