WEST CHESTER, PA — Gawthrop Greenwood, PC, a full-service law firm with offices in West Chester, PA and Greater Wilmington, DE, is pleased to announce that two new attorneys have joined the firm.
Robert C. Jefferson, IV is an associate attorney practicing in municipal government law, as well as land use, land development and zoning.
A former Assistant District Attorney, Jefferson spent six years at the Chester County D.A.’s Office prosecuting 19 jury trials and more than 20 bench trials for criminal cases ranging from felonies to misdemeanors. His career in public service, along with experience navigating the adversarial court system, have proven beneficial to both public and private sector clients as they face testimony and cross-examination before zoning hearing boards, planning commissions and other municipal authorities
“Robert’s years of public service are an ideal fit for the firm’s Government Law Department, which is thriving as it represents several local municipalities, including new solicitorships for the City of Coatesville as well as West Bradford Township,” says Sandra L. Knapp, chair of the management committee at Gawthrop Greenwood, PC.
Jefferson graduated Cum Laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance in 2007. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor at University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2010.
Kari Springer is joining Gawthrop Greenwood, PC as an associate attorney.
A recent graduate of Villanova University’s Charles Widger School of Law, Springer has served as a Law Clerk and Summer Associate at Gawthrop Greenwood, PC for the past year as she worked toward her Juris Doctor degree. During this time, she focused her practice in the firm’s Trusts and Estates Department, where her research supported the recently changing laws behind attorney-client privilege.

Springer earned her B.A. in American Studies with a minor in Irish Language and Literature from the University of Notre Dame. She attained a certificate in Paralegal Studies from Duke University.
