WEST CHESTER, PA —  The Fred Beans Automotive Group recently earned two separate honors for its exemplary workplace culture. For the fourth consecutive year, the company was named among the Best Places to Work in the Greater Philadelphia Region. For the second year in a row, it was named among the region’s Healthiest Employers.

Both honors are bestowed by the Philadelphia Business Journal. The Fred Beans Automotive Group has made these lists every time it has been nominated.

“Such recognitions validate our commitment to each employee’s professional and personal success,” said Beth Beans Gilbert, vice president of Fred Beans Automotive Group.

Fred Beans is one of only six “extra-large” organizations, those with 500 or more employees, named to the 2022 Best Places to Work list. The official ranking of honorees will be revealed at a July 28 event. Last year, the company came in first in its category.

The Best Places to Work list is compiled annually by the Philadelphia Business Journal in partnership with Quantum Workplace, a provider of employee engagement software. Winners are determined solely by employee feedback collected through an independent survey. Questions cover a range of topics including work environment, support of personal growth, benefits and trust in senior leadership.

“We aim to promote from within and give our Fred Beans team members support to learn and grow with us,” said Beans Gilbert. “But what may not be typical of an automotive group like ours, is we also strive to help employees become the very best versions of themselves through our comprehensive Healthy Living Program. We provide individualized fitness and nutrition consulting, online mental and physical health resources, company-wide fitness challenges and much more so our Fred Beans employees are ready and prepared to take full advantage of those opportunities to grow – and enjoy the climb.”

Among the 2022 Healthiest Employers, the Fred Beans Automotive Group ranked second in the “large” category, which includes companies with 1,500-4,999 employees.

This Healthiest Employers list is developed by the Philadelphia Business Journal in partnership with the Healthiest Employers program. Company wellness programs are selected based on culture and leadership commitment, programming and interventions, reporting and more.

The Fred Beans Automotive Group made a meaningful investment in employees’ health and wellness a few years ago by hiring Andrea Volm to serve as wellness coordinator. Volm has since grown the company’s Healthy Living Program with layers of offerings that employees can take advantage of on their own time, at their own pace.

“Employee participation is significant, and year after year, we celebrate our team members reaching weight-loss and fitness goals and improving other aspects of their physical and mental health,” said Volm. “Each success story helps inspire the next one and create a unique culture here, where employees are encouraged to care for themselves.”
