WEST GROVE, PA — Simpson announced the recent appointment of James T. Clancy, LNHA, to the position of executive director for Jenner’s Pond, a continuing care retirement community in West Grove, Chester County.

“We are pleased to welcome Jim Clancy to the Simpson organization,” says Carol McKinley, PhD, Simpson’s president and chief executive officer. “His extensive experience and his energy will be an asset to both team members and residents at Jenner’s Pond.”

“I’m excited to be here,” Clancy says. “It’s delightful to see how invested the residents are in every aspect of daily life in this community. I look forward to making a positive impact and carrying on an open dialog with residents and staff about what they want to see at Jenner’s Pond.”

Clancy will lead major programming changes and campus renovations—areas in which he has a record of success while maintaining high census and satisfaction levels.

He comes to Jenner’s Pond from United Methodist Communities at Collingswood, where he had been executive director since 2016. During his tenure there, the community received a Best Place to Work Award for five consecutive years. Previously, he was executive director at United Methodist Communities at Pitman from 2004 to 2016. He started in senior services as a college student, working as a certified nurse assistant at Neshaminy Manor nursing home.

“I developed a love for working with seniors—I feel like I’m working next to people who are ‘living history,’” he says.

Clancy was the director of admissions/crisis intervention specialist in the psychiatric/substance abuse unit at Warminster Hospital, where he also served as a social worker. He was the assistant administrator at Lakewood at Voorhees, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center; and administrator at Wanaque Center, a long-term care and rehabilitation facility serving pediatric and geriatric populations.
