MALVERN, PA — Balfour Beatty Communities announced its senior vice president of military housing management, Charles “Chuck” Parker, was recently honored as a 2023 National Defense Community Champion by the Association of Defense Communities. Mr. Parker was nominated by ENGIE, a leading low-carbon energy and services provider and BBC partner.
Defense Community Champions represents a wide range of leaders who showcase commitment to serving and improving the lives of servicemembers and their families. Mr. Parker was recognized for his leadership in planning an innovative energy conversation program in various stages of implementation across Balfour Beatty Community’s 55 military housing communities in the U.S. The pilot program at Fort Eustis and Fort Story, under Mr. Parker’s leadership, has already resulted in significant energy/water consumption and cost savings, better living conditions for military families, and Balfour Beatty Community’s ability to dedicate more resources to its core mission of building and maintaining homes for military families.
