Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry Joins Energy Future PA

Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Energy Future PA today announced the Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry has joined as the Energy Future PA coalition’s newest partner organization.

“We are thrilled to have the Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry as our newest partner,” said former state Rep. Kate Harper, who serves as co-chair of Energy Future PA, along with former state Auditor General Eugene DePasquale. “The business community has a real stake in ensuring Pennsylvania is a leader in our new energy economy – preserving and creating jobs and bringing economic vitality to our communities.”

The chamber’s decision to become a partner in Energy Future PA comes as Pennsylvania seeks to compete for billions of dollars in federal funding to develop new, alternative energy facilities – including the race to build a network of large-scale regional hydrogen hubs nationwide.

“As a chamber, we’re focused on ensuring our businesses and communities can thrive both today and for generations to come,” said Laura Manion, president and CEO, Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry. “Energy Future PA is a natural fit for us, as it welcomes a broad array of voices to the energy conversation, with Pennsylvania jobs and economic growth as core components of its mission.”

The Chester County Chamber is the first business organization in Pennsylvania to join Energy Future PA. Other partner organizations include Penn State College of Earth and Mineral Sciences; the Pennsylvania State Building and Construction Trades Council; and PDC Machines, a Bucks County-based manufacturer of hydrogen compressors and fueling stations.

“It’s clear that our message is resonating with diverse groups across Pennsylvania,” said DePasquale, Energy Future PA co-chair. “We’re nonpartisan, we’re solution-driven and we believe in an energy future that puts Pennsylvanians first. Together, with the Chester County Chamber and other like-minded organizations, we can lead the nation in a new, innovation-driven energy economy.”
