California State University Chooses SkillSurvey’s Online Reference Checking Solution to Increase Recruiting Efficiency

BERWYN, PA — SkillSurvey, the leading provider of online reference checking, announced today that the California State University (CSU), the largest public university system in the U.S. with 23 campuses statewide, has selected SkillSurvey’s online reference checking and sourcing solutions to increase the university system’s recruiting efficiency and provide greater insights with regard to candidate selection.

The decision to award a Master Enabling Agreement to SkillSurvey was the result of a rigorous evaluation led by the CSU’s Office of the Chancellor. Among other measures, SkillSurvey ReferenceTM was chosen for its ease of use, its job-specific survey library, and its ability to integrate with the CSU’s applicant tracking system.

In addition, the CSU system recognized SkillSurvey’s adherence to scientific methodology and rigor, as evidenced through the only peer-reviewed studies and publications on data from online reference checking. The first, published in the International Journal of Selection and Assessment, provides conclusive evidence that SkillSurvey’s online reference-checking solution addresses compliance concerns by leveraging a structured, job-specific and consistent process, and is scientifically proven to reduce turnover for cause to yield better hiring results. Recently, SkillSurvey published new research on the content of qualitative feedback provided during structured, confidential reference checks in the peer-reviewed journal, Personnel Assessment and Decisions. Improving the quality of all individuals hired by the CSU system will contribute to the system’s ambitious Graduation Initiative 2025.
