Bridge Inspections to Cause Lane Closures on I-95 in Philadelphia

Lane closures

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that bridge inspections are scheduled on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia.

From Monday, June 24, through Wednesday, June 26, alternating lane closures will be in effect on northbound I-95 between the I-76 West/Route 291 and Broad Street interchanges. These closures will occur from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day.

Additionally, on Tuesday, June 25, the right lane on southbound I-95 will be closed between the Broad Street and Enterprise Avenue interchanges. This closure will also take place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Drivers should plan for possible slowdowns and allow extra time when traveling through these areas. The inspections are weather dependent.

These inspections are part of PennDOT’s ongoing program to check bridges at least once every two years. The goal is to ensure the safety and overall condition of these critical structures.
