10-Year-Old Considered Missing and Endangered, Say Coatesville Police

COATESVILLE, PA — The Coatesville Police Department is asking the public for help locating 10-year-old Cartier Jackson, and 30-year-old Shalika Shelton, who are considered missing and potentially endangered.

Authorities state that on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, the City of Coatesville Police Department received a report for a missing 10-year-old. The grandmother, who is the legal guardian of the missing child, conveyed that Shalika Shelton had taken her 10-year-old daughter, Cartier Jackson, to Philadelphia on Sunday. During the course of their investigation, police discovered that Shelton is described as having untreated mental health concerns. Both Cartier Jackson and  Shalika Shelton were last seen around 3:00 PM on June 19, 2022, in the 800 block of E. Lincoln Hwy, Coatesville, Chester County, Pennsylvania.

At this time, both the City of Coatesville Police Department, along with the family of the missing persons, believe Shelton is somewhere in the City of Philadelphia. She has been known to frequent both South West Philadelphia and Center City. Shelton was last seen wearing a tie-dye dress and 10-year-old Cartier Jackson was last seen wearing a white shirt with a bird on it, jean shorts, and white crocks.
