WEST CHESTER, PA — Former Rockette, Irene Jones, recently celebrated her 100th birthday with a dance-filled celebration at Arbor Terrace Willistown.

Born on September 3, 1922, Irene has been an avid dancer her entire life and has participated in various dance companies as well as becoming a Radio City Music Hall Rockette. When asked for her secret to longevity, she cited her healthy eating habits, plenty of dancing, happiness, and the avoidance of stress.

Irene was born in Connecticut and married her husband Jay at a young age. The couple had one child together and Irene became a grandmother of 2 and then a great-grandmother of 5. When asked about her proudest achievement, Irene says without hesitation that it is her family. She beams with pride when talking about her children and grandchildren and loves having such a close-knit family. Even as she gets older, Irene remains an integral part of her family’s life, offering wisdom, support, and love.

The party featured a musician, custom cakes, and champagne to toast the centenarian. Fellow resident Suzanne Keenan (99) was on hand to celebrate with Irene. The caregivers at Arbor Terrace Willistown, which Irene described as “compassionate”, were thanked by the birthday girl.

Here’s to many more years of good health and happiness for Irene!
