DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Do you know how to keep your children safe online in this ever-evolving digital age? If not, join the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) on April 6, 2022, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. via Zoom for a Chester County Safe Schools Summit, an event focused on increasing parental awareness of digital threats and other concerns. Parents are welcome to attend the Chester County Safe Schools Summit: Parenting in a Digital World to learn from Detective Bernard Martin and investigation expert Michele Stuart.

The Chester County Safe Schools Summit: Parenting in a Digital World will provide parents with the opportunity to learn about examining current social media apps and platforms, increasing parental awareness of digital interaction threats and identifying the steps that parents can take to keep children safe. Martin and Stuart will explore the digital connections children make through social media, gaming systems and various online applications. Time will also be available for a question and answer session.

Martin has over 16 years of experience in law enforcement with a Ph.D. in leadership and is also an adjunct professor at his alma mater, West Chester University, where he teaches law enforcement technology, criminal profiling and policing. Stuart is the owner and operator of JAG Investigations, Inc. and serves as an instructor at the FBI Academy at Quantico and is a former adjunct professor at the University of Virginia. Their combined significant professional experience and passion to keep children safe from online predators positions them as experts on internet safety.
