2019 Christmas Parade, Jingle Elf Run, Holiday Village and Santa in West Chester

WEST CHESTER, PA — The 40th anniversary of the QVC West Chester Christmas Parade, hosted by the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, will kick off Friday, December 6, 2019 at 7:15 pm.

The Christmas Parade will be the pinnacle of a weekend of festive activities which will include Holiday Open Houses,  the Key Financial Holiday Village, a Christmas Toy Drive presented by WSFS Bank, the annual Holiday Toy Drive Breakfast at St Agnes School, and the US Air Force Jingle Elf Run.

In the very center of West Chester, the Key Financial Holiday Village will offer family-friendly entertainment and complimentary treats. The Holiday Village will include sponsor and community business tents nestled together along High Street, between Gay and Market Streets, in an evening of merriment on Friday, December 6, from 5 pm to 9 pm. The Holiday Village is free and open to the public.

The US Air Force Jingle Elf Run will begin at 6:30 PM on Friday, December 6th.  Prizes will be awarded to age-group winners and cash is awarded to the top finishers in the two-mile run. Contestants will also be rewarded for the most creative holiday outfits, with a cash prize for the best-dressed elf.

Those interested in participating may register in advance at www.RunCCRS.com and will receive a complimentary jingle elf hat. You may register in person after 5:30 PM on the day of the event at the Chester County Running Store, 24 S. High Street, West Chester.

Organizers promise the best Christmas Parade to date which will feature local schools, businesses, volunteer fire companies, marching bands, floats, and antique vehicles. Adam Joseph of 6abc will once again be the Master of Ceremonies, joined by QVC hosts who will introduce speakers, entertainers, and volunteers during the event,

The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce announced QVC’s return as the title sponsor. “The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with QVC on this fantastic family event,” says Chamber President Mark Yoder. “Their continued sponsorship for this beloved holiday parade demonstrates their support, not only for the Chamber, but for the entire West Chester community.”

For families, the best early view of Santa will occur on West Market Street. The parade will follow its traditional route begining at New and Market Street, before traveling East on Market Street. From there, the parade will head North on Matlack Street, then West on Gay Street, and finally, finish South down New Street.

The parade duration will be approximately 90 minutes. Onlookers on Gay St. will see the first element after the parade travels down Market St. then turns north on Matlack St. then westward onto Gay St. The event is rain or shine.
