PHILADELPHIA, PA — Today, in honor of National Hoagie Day, May 5, the recently crowned Miss Philadelphia Elaine Ficarra, a Glenmoore PA native, visited PrimoHoagies in Center City Philadelphia. Elaine sampled hoagies and try her hand at making her own Primo hoagie, helping promote Philadelphia’s favorite holiday: National Hoagie Day.

PrimoHoagies sponsored the May 1 pageant with a donation to the full-tuition scholarship to Cabrini University that each Miss Philadelphia receives as part of her winnings.

This year marked the 100th anniversary of the Miss Philadelphia competition. Miss Ficarra will represent Philadelphia at the Miss Pennsylvania state competition taking place in June.
