LANCASTER, PA — Sight & Sound is set to bring its acclaimed theatrical production of “DANIEL” to the big screen with a live broadcast event. Partnering with Fathom Events, this special presentation will take place on Friday, August 30th, offering audiences nationwide a unique opportunity to experience the drama and spectacle of live theater from the comfort of their local movie theaters.
Katie Miller, Director of Brand Development, emphasized the significance of this initiative: “We know not everyone can come to us, so we want to take the show to them. Our hope is to continue creating experiences that extend beyond our stage and bring people together to witness the Bible coming to life in a whole new way.”
This live broadcast of “DANIEL” will transport viewers to ancient Babylon, where Daniel and his friends Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego navigate royal pressures and perilous choices. The production delves into Daniel’s steadfast faith amidst trials, drawing inspiration from his story in the Old Testament.
Kristen Brewer, Producer of “DANIEL,” shared insights into the creation of the show: “Found in the Old Testament, Daniel is best known for its vivid dreams, fiery furnace, and infamous lion’s den. But as we began creating this production four years ago, it was Daniel’s unwavering faith throughout these trials that inspired the heart of our story.”
The live broadcast will feature more than a dozen cameras capturing every angle of the performance, providing moviegoers with an immersive, front-row experience. In addition to the main event, attendees will enjoy exclusive bonus content, including behind-the-scenes interviews and a glimpse into the production process.
“We’ve had the honor of partnering with Fathom Events on previous theatrical releases. But this is the first time we are broadcasting live into movie theaters nationwide!” said Miller. “We cannot wait to share Daniel’s story with moviegoers across the country and we hope his powerful story inspires audiences of all ages.”
Sight & Sound and Fathom Events have previously collaborated on successful projects, such as the family Christmas film “I Heard The Bells,” which grossed over $5.6 million at the box office in 2022 and 2023.
