PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia is set to welcome the holiday season in grand style with the annual lighting of the 55-foot-tall Holiday Tree at City Hall. From November 30, 2023, to January 1, 2024, residents and visitors can revel in the festive spirit as the magnificent tree illuminates the north side of City Hall, adding to the city’s vibrant holiday atmosphere.

Located just around the corner from the wintry fun in Dilworth Park and Christmas Village at LOVE Park, the holiday tree serves as a beacon of holiday cheer. Its thousands of twinkling lights create a dazzling spectacle that has become a cherished part of Philadelphia’s holiday traditions.

The tree lighting celebration will take place on Thursday, November 30, 2023. This much-anticipated event promises an evening of entertainment and joy, featuring performances by Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Jordin Sparks and renowned DJ Diamond Kuts, among others. The highlight of the evening will undoubtedly be the moment when the switch is flipped, and the holiday tree bursts into a brilliant display of light and color for the first time this season.

This year’s holiday tree, a concolor fir standing over 50 feet tall, was delivered to City Hall on November 8. Since then, it has been decked out with 4000 lights, ready to brighten up the Wawa Holiday Plaza and spread holiday cheer throughout the city.

City Hall, located at 1401 Market Street, is set to host this annual holiday event and is inviting everyone to join in the festivities. The Philadelphia Holiday Tree is more than just a decoration – it’s a symbol of the city’s holiday spirit and a testament to the community’s resilience and unity. So mark your calendars, bundle up, and come to experience the magic of the holiday season at Philadelphia’s City Hall.
