Main Line Animal Rescue Host Drive-in Movie to Raise Funds for Lifesaving Mission
Family-friendly, socially distanced event will raise funds for Main Line Animal Rescue's lifesaving mission

CHESTER SPRINGS, PA — In a time when large-scale fundraising events have been put on hold, and social gatherings are at a minimum, Main Line Animal Rescue will host a socially distanced drive-in movie night at MLAR’s sprawling Chester County property on Saturday, August 15, 2020, beginning at 6:30 pm.

Individuals, families, and of course animal advocates, are invited to a special showing of The Sandlot, which follows the funny and touching adventures of Scottie Smalls and his friends who play baseball at the sandlot.

Taking advantage of Main Line Animal Rescue’s acreage, the drive-in can accommodate over one hundred cars, giving families the night out they are so desperately seeking, while providing them with the safety of social distancing.

Priority seating is available for those who wish to sit upfront, with first and second row spots available for just $250 and $150 (limit 10 tickets per car) per car respectively. General admission tickets, which parking will be given to on a first come, first serve basis, are available at $10 for adults, $7 for kids age 6-12, and free for kids 5 and under.

“During the pandemic, raising funds for our lifesaving mission has been challenging,” said Susan Chew, Site Director of Main Line Animal Rescue. “With so many of our in-person events cancelled, we are thrilled to finally be able to invite the public back to the farm for this socially distanced event. We hope to see many people, safely tucked in their cars or sitting out on the lawn in front of their vehicles, for a night at the movies to bring a sense of normalcy to our lives while helping us save animal lives.”

Increased safety measures, including the required wearing of facemasks for anyone out of their car or without the ability to keep a 6-foot distance, will be in place. Limited tickets are available (250 person maximum capacity per Pennsylvania Covid-19 Green Phase crowd restrictions).
