PHILADELPHIA, PA — Hold onto your hats folks – Fishtown District has announced BIG news. The Kensington Derby and Arts Festival is expanding its footprint to accommodate dozens more vendors, with over two dozen additional artists, makers, and local businesses ready to be showcased! Brace yourselves for more food, drink, makers, art, fun, and… mud. Who knew this event could get any better?

Experience the thrill of a lifetime at the Kensington Derby – a unique 3-mile event that fuses the excitement of the Amazing Race with the spirit of Survivor. Teams and individuals alike PARADE through Fishtown and Kensington, cheered on by thousands of enthusiastic fans. Along the way, participants must navigate an obstacle course laid out by local businesses, as they race toward the finish line.

But that’s not all. Teams will also be tested by a grueling mud pit, where they’ll have to balance on their sculptures, bikes, or parade floats while navigating through hundreds of pounds of wet, sticky mud. Last year, even the rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of the thousands who braved the weather to witness this thrilling spectacle.

But the Kensington Derby isn’t just an adrenaline-fueled road race. It’s also an arts festival, a food truck festival, and a live entertainment extravaganza. Enjoy performances by circus performers and other surprises, all while sampling an array of culinary delights from some of the city’s finest food trucks.

As an added treat for attendees, Cloud Cups, Philadelphia’s award-winning, Black-owned gelato company, will provide a sneak peek at their new Fishtown location with a pop-up at Pizza Brain on 2313 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19125.
