PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia residents are gearing up for one of the city’s most anticipated events, the Fishtown Fall Feastivale. Scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2024, this lively festival promises a day filled with culinary delights, music, and entertainment on Frankford Avenue, stretching from Girard to Palmer. The event runs from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, offering a feast for all senses and welcoming guests of all ages at no charge.

The Fishtown District, with support from Penn Treaty Special Services District, orchestrates this vibrant block party that showcases the neighborhood’s rich culinary and cultural scene. Visitors can enjoy street food from some of Philadelphia’s top eateries alongside locally crafted beers and seasonal beverages from notable establishments such as Evil Genius Beer Company, Two Robbers Spirits Co., and Front Street Cafe. These businesses will serve their specialties under the autumn skies, providing a true taste of Fishtown’s dynamic food landscape.

The festival, now in its 11th year, has evolved significantly since its inception in 2013. Originally part of Philly Beer Week, the event has expanded beyond its initial focus on beer to include a wide range of food and drink options. This year’s lineup features over 40 vendors, offering everything from classic burgers and bratwurst to innovative dishes like Bahn Mi and Fishtown Pickle Project’s artisanal pickles. The array of food and beverage choices ensures there is something to satisfy every palate.

Fishtown Fall Feastivale is not just about food and drink; it is a celebration of the neighborhood’s thriving artistic and retail communities. Attendees can explore a variety of stalls showcasing local artists, craftsmen, and retailers. The lineup includes unique offerings from 1505 Design Studio, Aura Artisan Soap, and Queer Candle Co., among others, highlighting the creativity and diversity that Fishtown is known for.

Music lovers will not be disappointed, as live performances and DJ sets will keep the energy high throughout the day. Stages curated by Johnny Brenda’s and the Fishtown District will feature local talent playing diverse genres, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.

For families, the festival includes a dedicated area with carnival games and activities. Children can participate in games like Soccer Darts, Whack-a-Mole, and Inflatable Ax Throwing for a $10 suggested donation. Additional activities, such as face painting and balloon art, will be available as part of the Frankford Hall Oktoberfest celebrations.

Community involvement remains at the heart of the event. The Lutheran Settlement House Charity Celebrity Dunk Tank will feature local personalities, with proceeds supporting essential community services. The Fishtown Neighbors Association will also host a beer tent, with funds raised going back into supporting neighborhood initiatives.

“Fishtown District has become a top destination for foodies city-wide,” said Fishtown District Director of Operations Kae Anderson. “Fishtown Fall Feastivale is the perfect way to eat your way down Frankford Avenue. It is our biggest line-up of restaurants and bars ever. Come find your favorites, or try something new and different. There’s going to be something for everyone!”

The festival is conveniently located near public transportation, making it accessible to all. With the support of local organizations and the city, Fishtown Fall Feastivale continues to celebrate the spirit of community and the vibrancy of one of Philadelphia’s most dynamic neighborhoods. Whether you’re a longtime resident or a first-time visitor, this event promises an unforgettable experience filled with food, fun, and festivity.
