Comedic Legend Joe Conklin and City Rhythm Orchestra to Entertain West Chester University for a Cause

WEST CHESTER, PA — West Chester University is set to host the legendary comedian, singer, and entertainer Joe Conklin, along with the renowned City Rhythm Orchestra, for two benefit performances. These musical comedy events are scheduled for Friday, January 26, and Saturday, January 27, both at 8 p.m., at the Madeleine Wing Adler Theatre in the Swope Music Building and Performing Arts Center.

The performances, brought to the university by the Criminal Justice Student Association (CJSA), promise to offer an entertaining evening filled with music, comedy, and local flavor. Tickets for the event range from $65 – $80, with a portion of the proceeds going towards supporting student attendance at future regional, national, and international conferences and competitions.

Christopher Przemieniecki, Associate Professor and Faculty Advisor in the Department of Criminal Justice, expressed his excitement about the upcoming shows. “We are thrilled to bring the hilarious Joe Conklin to West Chester University along with the amazing City Rhythm Orchestra,” he said. “This show is such a great time and filled with local flavor and heart. We invite students, parents, alumni, and members of the community to join us for what we know will be a fantastic show.”

Joe Conklin, a long-time WIP radio comedian known for his impressions of sports figures and politicians, will team up with the City Rhythm Orchestra to present a 90-minute tribute to the sports fans of Philadelphia. Conklin, who has worked with notable performers like Keven Hart, Tim Allen, and Ray Romano, will bring along family members, including a daughter, goddaughter, and two brothers, to join in the fun.

The City Rhythm Orchestra, a top event band in the Philadelphia region for over 35 years, boasts a diverse playlist ranging from Rhianna to Sinatra. Led by Pete Spina and Nick Vallerio, the band’s performances have graced major music venues along the East Coast, including the Kimmel Center, Mann Music Center, and Atlantic City’s Trump Casino and Borgata, among others.
