WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County fine arts painter David Katz has developed a program to benefit local community organizations by offering original artworks throughout their facilities. The first two initiatives are within West Bradford Township and in the Borough of West Chester. Katz has produced a series of paintings depicting scenes throughout the Delaware Valley. These oils are displayed in the hallways of West Bradford Township Offices and the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce. Since these facilities receive a large number of resident and business traffic, visitors can view the art and opt to purchase the works.

“I wanted to have a portion of the artwork sales to benefit the community,” explained Katz. “This way, the offices have art that reflects the beautiful places I have found around Chester County and the greater Delaware Valley, while benefiting local projects.”

Katz is a classically trained painter who studied art from the masters at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. His works emphasize landscapes in Southern Pa. with an emphasis on the “incredible beauty of our skies”.

West Bradford Township hopes to raise funds in support of preserving green space. Township Manager Justin Yaich said, “West Bradford Township is pleased to showcase the amazing talent of one of our local artists, David Katz. David has graciously offered to donate a percentage of any sale proceeds to the West Bradford’s Land Preservation Fund”.

In downtown West Chester, the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce has displayed a series of paintings for the public to see. GWCC president Katie Walker noted, “Since local artist David Katz came to hang his paintings at the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce offices, we have been touched by the number of new visitors that have come to enjoy his work. His creativity and love of West Chester has brightened up our space and introduced us to new people in our community. We were humbled to learn from David that any piece sold on display at the GWCC offices, would provide for proceeds to support the work of The Chamber and our mission to help businesses and organizations grow in Greater West Chester. All are welcome to come visit us and experience David’s beautiful art.”

Katz wants to demonstrate that local artists can help support important projects in the community by using works that highlight local outdoor scenes. Residents can view David Katz’s paintings at the West Bradford Township offices at 1385 Campus Drive in Downingtown as well as the GWCC Offices at 137 N. High Street in West Chester.
