CESHETR SPRINGS, PA — This year, Historic Yellow Springs notes a special landmark for their renowned art show and sale as the prestigious free community event celebrates a half-century of success. Each year Historic Yellow Springs and an army of volunteers transform two full floors of their historic Lincoln building into a salon style gallery complete with over 4,000 individual artworks. Enthusiastic artists and collectors eagerly descend upon the village to celebrate all things creative. This storied community event is sure to impress with over 200 artists, a multitude of events, and two full weeks to snag your new favorite masterpiece. The event is made possible with generous support from many sponsors including the two grand sponsors, Anro Inc. and Kinetic Physical Therapy.

For those seeking a first look at the art, festivities kick off with the sold-out pARTy on Friday, April 28th. Proceeds from the event and a small live auction help support Historic Yellow Springs’ mission to share, preserve and celebrate the unique living village of Yellow Springs. With the focus on history, art, education and the environment, Historic Yellow Springs enriches the lives of all who visit.

“This wonderful tradition in our community is such a joy to be a part , especially for the fiftieth anniversary of the show,” shared Maureen Fendrick, Art Show Chair “There’s so much fabulous art to enjoy, exciting events, and beautiful surroundings to serve as our backdrop.”

The firs weekend is certainly the most energized, as collectors are eager to locate their perfect piece. Thousands of visitors will attend the free event over the14-days, and the work is constantly changing. This year, the celebration is complemented with the addition of an Art Show Fashion Show, May 4that 5:30pm, the Friday Happy Hour returns May 5th 5-8pm,  and Art Around the Village family experience May 14th 10am-2pm.

This year’s newcomer to the festivities is a fashion forward take on the arts and a fun night out with friends in the village. Polka•Dots Boutique bring their fashion foresight and keen eye to the village runway as they share the hottest new looks of the season. Starting with afterhours access to the Art Show, doors open at 4pm. Then the party continues into the storied Washington event venue for hors d’oeuvres, drinks as the models hit the runway at 5:30.

Finally, to cap the weeks long celebration of creativity, Historic Yellow Springs invites you to join in the fun at Art Around the Village. This free community event will be held on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14, from 10 am to 2 pm. Visitors will enjoy the beauty of springtime in the village and explore the grounds while seeing real artists in action. Fifteen of this year’s Art Show artists will be painting outside “en plein air” around the village. Live pottery demonstrations, a history walk to learn about the 300years of Yellow Springs Village, live music, and food will also be available to round out the family fun experience.
